Green Product Declaration

Song Chuan makes efforts in manufacturing Green Products which comply with the requirements of environmental regulations.

1. RoHS Directive (the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, 2011/65/EU)

The RoHS Directive was released by the EU (European Union) on February 13, 2003. The Directive specifies that it’s starting from July 1, 2006 to ban the use of any material that contains one or more of the six hazardous substances that pollute the environment, including lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBB (polybrominated biphenyls) and PBDE (polybrominated diphenyl ethers), in all electronic and electrical products and equipments. A maximum concentration value of 0.1% by weight in homogeneous materials for lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBBs and PBDEs shall be tolerated, and a maximum concentration value of 0.01% for cadmium.

It was from July 1st, 2004, Song Chuan had exerted its efforts to ban on the use of the restrict material containing hazardous substances step by step and product by product gradually through product development to put it in practice. From 2006 March onward, all Song Chuan products are complying RoHS requirement and Song Chuan is fulfilling the compliance of the directive.

2. ELV Directive (end-of life vehicles, 2000/53/EC)

The ELV Directive was released by the EU on October 21, 2000. It restricts the use of heavy metals in new vehicles (including materials and components) from July 1, 2003 must less than 0.1% for lead, mercury, and hexavalent chromium, and 0.01% for cadmium by weight per homogeneous materials.

From July 1st, 2004, Song Chuan started to process design change to use substitutive material that contains lead, mercury, and hexavalent chromium less than 0.1% and cadmium less than 0.01% by weight and by March, 2006 all Song Chuan relay are complying with ELV directive and requirement.

3. REACH Regulation (the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, (EC)No.1907/2006)

REACH Regulation was released on December 13, 2006, and takes effect on June 1, 2007. On October 28, 2008, the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) published on its website a Candidate List of 15 SVHC Substances (Substances of Very High Concern), and the restricted value is 0.1%(w/w). Suppliers must notify ECHA if the produced/imported articles to EU with a presence of a SVHC above the threshold of 0.1% (w/w) and the SVHC quantities in produced/imported articles exceed 1 ton per year. The substance that will be subject to authorization will be published by ECHA.

Song Chuan currently fulfills the requirements of REACH Regulation.

4. Halogen-free
IT products have started for requiring to use Halogen Free material and components. Song Chuan also has started to use halogen free material in the products for IT products. Please contact us for inquiring further details if you are in need of Halogen free relays.

The environmental regulations and requirement are up-dating from time to time. Song Chuan is following the trend to develop Green Products so as to make dedication and contribution for energy saving and protecting the Earth.
